Garden market reminder and new friends
GARDEN MARKET
Saturday 9-10am
Come on by to harvest some greens and catch up with your neighbors. Donations greatly appreciated. Bring a bag for your booty! Trip to the Barton Creek Mall Farmers Market after that.
Meet Winston. He and his mom Ginger showed up thursday night while Brett and I were covering the plants for the big freeze. He wanted to come in, but wasn't quite sure about what we were doing with these big sheets of plastic, so stayed outside the fence watching and flirting :) Brett gave him a piece of broccoli which his mom said he only ate when disguised in some other food stuff. He proceeded to happily prove her wrong and chomped away the whole time we were there.

New Trail and Market update
Thank you City of Rollingwood and Park Commission for the wonderful trail that loops around the lower playground field and stops at our garden! We hope to get more visitors using the path and look forward to the Eagle Scout Chimney Swift habitat project adjacent to us. The lower field is happening, come check it out.
We hosted our first GARDEN MARKET on Saturday from 9-10am. The idea was hastily formulated over some beers a few days prior so when we showed up at the park, were surprised to see yellow caution tape prohibiting us from entering. Seems that trail construction was still underway and after several early morning calls to the Mayor and some gentle persuading of our police force, we were able to be "escorted" back to the garden safely.

Saturday's are Garden and Farmer's Market Days
Happy 2012 to you all. Our celebration/meeting last night was so fun. It's great to see our community and friendships build around this simple little project. The garden is quite prolific at the moment and in our never-ending effort to get YOU into the garden, we've come up with an exciting and flavorful idea.
GARDEN MARKET
Every Saturday (weather permitting) from 9am-10am
The garden will be open and available for you to come, sample and harvest the wonderful bounty of lettuces, broccoli, cauliflower, brussel sprouts and exotic greens for free!
After that, we'll caravan over to the Barton Creek Mall Farmer's Market to flush out our week's shopping with fresh eggs, grass-fed meats and whatever else looks yummy. You'll be supporting our garden and local farmers by participating and maybe even get in the habit of shopping there weekly.
We hope you will join us starting this Saturday to Taste, Learn and Grow in our Garden.
